Hydration Before, During and After the Round is Key
Hydration Before, During and After the Round is Key

Everyone knows that the post-round meet up is where stories are shared, embarrassing moments are relived and sometimes you collect $ from your playing partners!

All of these things usually happen right before you order refreshments. Attached are some of the most popular cocktails ordered by golfers across the country with directions on how to create them.

Golf Course Cocktails Menu

The Transfusion The unofficial “on-course” drink — crisp, sweet, and keeps your swing loose. 2 oz vodka 3 oz ginger ale (or Sprite) 2 oz grape juice Method: Build over ice in a highball glass, stir gently, garnish with lime wedge.

John Daly Arnold Palmer’s wilder cousin — perfect for the back nine. 2 oz vodka 3 oz lemonade 3 oz iced tea Method: Pour over ice in a tall glass, garnish with lemon wheel.

The Mulligan Because sometimes you need another shot — in more ways than one. 1.5 oz citrus vodka 3 oz lemonade Splash of cranberry juice Method: Shake with ice, strain into a rocks glass, garnish with mint sprig.

Birdie Bubbly A light, sparkling celebration in a glass. 3 oz prosecco or champagne 1 oz peach or strawberry purée Method: Pour purée into flute, top with bubbles, garnish with fresh fruit.

The Sand Trap A tropical escape — hopefully the only trap you’ll be in today. 1.5 oz coconut rum 1 oz pineapple juice 1 oz orange juice Splash grenadine Method: Shake with ice, strain into a hurricane glass, garnish with cherry and pineapple.

Fairway Fizz Crisp and zesty, like a perfectly striped drive. 1.5 oz gin 0.5 oz lime juice 0.5 oz simple syrup Club soda Method: Shake first three with ice, strain into highball glass, top with soda, garnish with lime.

Bloody Mary The classic cure for early tee times and bad rounds. 2 oz vodka 4 oz tomato juice Dash Worcestershire, hot sauce, lemon juice, salt & pepper Method: Roll between glasses (don’t shake), serve over ice with celery, olives, and bacon strip.

The Hole in One Sweet, tart, and dangerously easy to drink. 1 oz peach schnapps 1 oz vodka 2 oz cranberry juice 2 oz orange juice Method: Build over ice, stir gently, garnish with orange slice.

Last year, I came up with a drink that has kind of become my regular at home during the summer months. I call is the "Summer Slappin'" - 2 oz Bulleit Rye Bourbon, 2 oz Limoncello, 4 oz Pineapple Juice and top with 3 oz Ginger Ale, garnish with fresh pineapple chunks. It is as refreshing as it is dangerous - hence the 'slappin'!

Among these, I will count the Bloody Mary as my favorite for a Sunday Morning Tee Time! Post round drinks usually land in the form of a Transfusion or a double shot of Weller Wheated Bourbon on the rocks (depending on what occurred on the previous 18 holes). What is your go to cocktail? Let us know - CHEERS!!
