As social a game golf is, you are bound to meet a variety of people, personalities and hear things you have never heard before! Sometimes funny, sometimes inappropriate but usually always entertaining are the musings of golfers during a round.
We are going to explore some of the things I have heard on the course and you can decide the dual meaning, entendre or hilarious application taken in a different context.
Here are just a few of the things golfers are saying that may or may not carry the same meaning in everyday life:
"Which hole are you playing?"
"Can I borrow your wiggle stick?" (aka Swing Trainer)
"Sit, Sit, Sit!"
"Go, Go, Go!"
"Get in the hole!"
"Hit a house!"
"Nice lag"
"I like that shaft"
"Stop Turning!"
"Bladed it!"
"Sculled it!"
"Hit it thin!"
"Hit it fat!"
"Chunked it!"
"Hit it, Alice!"
Obviously, these are just a few of the things you have likely heard while playing this beautiful game. With our group, some of my favorites are:
"Nice shot...you prick!"
"Put it inside me!"
and the best one I have heard in a long time...."Are you part Brazilian? The way you shave around the hole, I thought you might be!"
Admittedly, not all of these things are PC and/or could be considered offensive, but in golf, like life, looking for the humor without taking things too seriously can be healthy - otherwise, where's the fun?!
What are some of your favorite course quips?
